It's In The Ballot - Kirikiroa Māori Ward Candidate Special

It’s In The Ballot is an organisation with a vision to become a ‘community-led awareness and participation initiative’ to increase voter interest and turnout in the general and council elections nationally. On Thursday 11 July 2024 they hosted candidates for the Kirikiriroa Hamilton Māori Ward by-election for a livestreamed candidate event. This episode is an edited version of that full event featuring candidates; Danielle Marks Donna Pokere-Phillips Horiana Henderson Maria Te Aukaha Huata Marian Ruri Each candidate starts with an Opening Statement (1 minute) on why they are running. The candidates choose a numbered box and speaks to the question (1 minute). In keeping with the style of ‘It’s in The Bag’, each candidate will be given two Butt-in cards and one Defer card. Then, they face further tough questions from It’s In The Ballot host Sam Somers.
